Cambodians from a foreigner's point of view

Usual observation round-up

Tourism Focused
Cambodia thrives on tourists, who flocked there for a visit to one of the world's wonders, AWK. So hotels & guest houses lined the streets of Siem Reap, most shops sell souvenirs, & AWK is lined with stores, touters, tuk tuks, etc etc to earn the foreign buck.

Bargaining
N bcos they thrive on foreign buck, tourists really had to bargain very hard. Dun be afraid to cut at least half off their price.

Expensive Phone Bill
My Singtel phone bill is bloody ex for that month. $180!!! Thats like close to 4 times my usual bill..

Nothingness
Ermm.. There's really nothing much in Siem Reap. At least nothing that interests me. There's no huge shopping malls and such.

Hot
Bring a cap AND SUNBLOCK!! Its scorching hot and dry with NO RAIN!!

Cambodia Working Trip Day 8 - Guest Blogged by 浪迹天涯小狗

Finally we're going back!!

Thinking that we could escape from the heat, we jus virtually went from a hot place to another hot place. Singapore was freaking hot and stuffy that day.

Anyway, back to last few hrs at Cambodia.

The customary hotel room shots (jus that mistress prefers to do it b4 she leaves the hotel rather than when everything was neat n tidy when she checked in.)

After breakfast, we went back to do our final packings b4 lugging our luggage n check out. Mistress's room charges is freaking expensive. Due to the 2 teleconference she made, which comes to US$400 for less than 2 hrs combined, the total bill came to abt US$950. =.="

Departure hall.

Checking in.

Departure hall.

When mistress is bored, she takes pictures of everything and anything.

Striking a cool pose with the blue sky.

This is not sepia effect.

Its jus mistress putting her sunglass in front of the camera lens n shooting thru it.

Flight lunch.

Evidence of how our luggage are being thrown ard.

N YES! We're back in SG!! Miss SG!! But definitely I din miss the hot weather..

Cambodia Working Trip Day 7 - Guest Blogged by 浪迹天涯小狗

ONE WEEK LIAO!!! That's very long..

Anyway today was a free & easy day cos the only flight to Singapore is full, thus we might as well confirmed the flight for tmr rather than be on the waiting list.

So with one day to burn, mistress's ex-boss brought her jalan-ing.

On Tuk Tuk

Bcos Cambodia's infrastructure is not well developed yet, there's a lot of potholes & dust on the minimal asphalt roads. N being on a Tuk Tuk travelling on pothole-filled roads is quite.. I shld say thrilling.

There was an election going on while we were there, so this is the 2nd batch of ppl we saw (The 1st batch was in white, seen the day b4 in their lorries & bikes, doing their campaignings).

Lake? River? DRAIN?

1st itinerary of the day was to go to the lake/sea side.

Dam

Coastline, with the tour boats lining up.

Fried locusts, which is in abundance there.

Rows of straw matted cubicles for rental.

We took the boat out to a little island in the middle of the lake.

The boatsman & some kid.

N wat did we see on the little island in the middle of the lake?

Ruins.

They're EVERYWHERE!!!

Probably the king's vacation resort.

This is a cute little kid on that island out of nowhere.

Cows. N patches of dried shit all over the island.

After the boat ride, we got the Tuk Tuk, which we rented for the entire day, to take us to Cambodian Cultural Village.

Museum.

Wax statue. Looks freakingly real.

A giant picture of a war.

The process of building Ang Kor Wat.

We went for lunch at the restaurant in the Cultural Village.

These flies were doing that thing in front of me.

Water house?

Their bricks are quite unique. Whats with the 4 holes?

Miniature land

But this is super huge.

Huge sleeping Buddha.

Cultural silk dance.

Ermm.. To reflect the AWK Headless culture.. Here comes our pop icon.. without his head!

Nice waterfall.

Some millionaire wedding show.

Thats all for the cultural village. We went back for a shower b4 heading out again in search for dinner. Had some Beijing dumplings which wasnt nice at all. *kana conned by her ex-boss*

Birdy Massage.. Very explicit. As its jus round the corner from the hotel, everytime mistress pass by, she'll be sniggering to herself.

Sunset

Some performance for some event which I can watch from my balcony window.

Finally Day 8.
